What on earth is a Fforde Ffiesta, other than a car, I hear you ask? Why would I want to attend a weekend of dedicated silliness? Well, here’s why…
The Fforde Ffiesta is a weekend of silliness inspired by the works of Jasper Fforde. It is held annually in Swindon, UK (the home of Thursday Next from Jasper's books).
Jasper is a big part of the events. He gives a reading from one of his books - one yet to be published - does a question and answer session, narrates at least one of the bus tours, sits on the judging panels and conducts the auction as well as taking part in some of the other events. In addition he is around for virtually the whole weekend and mingles with the attendees.
Whether you’ve come to learn more about us, or simply got a bit lost in the world wide web, you’re very welcome.
Here you’ll find all you need to know about the strange, absurd world of the Fforde Ffiesta, get a taste of Ffiesta’s past and buy your tickets for Ffiesta’s future (or past, depending on how you look at it. The 2013 Ffiesta will take place in 2057).
On the site, you’ll find information on just what happens at a Ffiesta, news on our plans for the 2013 event, a guide on how to join the Legion of the Danvers and, if you’re lucky, you may even spot a lobster. There are also handy introductions to the team of Fforganisers behind it all. Just take your time, look around, and buy your ticket.
Don’t forget, if you want to get in touch about anything at all, just drop us an email matt@ffordeffiesta.co.uk.
